Do you like to write? Do you enjoy doing desktop publishing, or maybe scrap-booking?Matt Coggins is looking for anyone who would like to help develop new and fresh ideas for our website. There isn't much we couldn't do or place on our website.
I currently placed a Blog on our site and would love to hear your comments or what might like to have added to this site. Remember, this site is for everyone that attends our church so we can customize it ANY way you'd like. Click on the picture to the left to go to our Blog or find the link in the left column under the Staff E-mail login link. Go out and explore and see what is happening at Living Promise!
Play Ball!
"Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, I don't care if I ever get back, let me root, root, root for the home team, if they don't win it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes, your out, at the old ball game."
Would you like to go see our Detroit Tigers play at Comerica Park in Detroit? Pastor Eddie has placed a sign-up roster on the bulletin board for all that would like to attend. If we get enough interested we will plan a date and have a great time - See you at the park!
Do you know where the song "Take me out to the Ball Game" originated? This song was written in 1908 by a man named Jack Norworth. One day when he was riding a New York City subway train, he spotted a sign that said "Ballgame Today at the Polo Grounds." Some baseball-related lyrics popped into his head, that were later set to some music by Albert Von Tilzer, to become the well known baseball song. "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." Despite the fact that neither Norworth or Tilzer had ever been to a baseball game at the time the song was written, it is one of the most widely sung songs in America.
So now you know... the rest of the story!
